As a jeweler, I work with customers and diamonds 8 hours a day, and I’m on my feet ALL 8 hours. Literally, we do not sit down. I never knew what working in a fast-paced environment truly meant, until I began working as a jeweler.
Most days, we will have anywhere from 80-300 customers, and my anxiety is pretty much always at an all-time high. Even though it can stress me out a lot, I LOVE MY JOB and I LOVE the people I work with. But at the end of the day, I cannot wait to just get to my apartment, take my shoes off, get into my robe, pick a glass of wine or champagne from the bar cart, and drink with my fiancé, Cody. It is my favorite way to settle down after a long but fun day of playing with diamonds!
Now, since I’m also a fashion and décor blogger over at BlondieintheCity.com, working on my blog post and getting it up by midnight is my last task of the day, and sometimes I don’t know how I do it without a little wine in my system. Being that my blog is not only about fashion, but décor, as well, I pretty much get the green light to decorate our entire apartment each time we move. My fiancé sometimes complains that he doesn’t get any say, and I always tell him, “well, maybe if you were a décor blogger, I’d let you take over.” 😉
Now because of this, his favorite area of the apartment has always been our bar cart area. He feels like he actually gets his chance to “decorate” if you will. Two years ago, when we first bought a bar cart, Cody went straight to BevMo to buy drinks to fill it up, and he has loved the bar cart ever since.
This year, we went with a more neutral, metallic, and larger bar cart from Living Spaces, and sure enough, Cody went all out the next day, picking out his favorite looking bottles at BevMo and Total Wine. I did take a good amount of them out for the photos, because I didn’t want it to look overcrowded, but the bar cart has definitely been a fun little way for Cody and I to bond through unwinding and decorating.
